Sarannavaraathrulu
BHAJE SREE CHAKRA MADHYASTHAM DAKSHINOTTARAYOHO SADA SYAMAA VAARTHALI SAMSEVYAM BHAVANEEM SREE LALITHAMBIKAAM.
As per Vedic pundits, “SREE CHAKRAM” is perceived as the geometric manifestation of the “COSMIC UNIVERSE.” Goddess” SREE LALITHA “ is its “Adhishtana Devatha.” If it is to be tangibly explained, Goddess “Lalitha Paraabhattarika Devi” is the “Moola Prakrithi Swaroopini”an comprising of three Goddesses, “MAHAA KAALI’; “MAHAA LAKSHMI’ AND “MAHAA SARASWATHI.” In turn, all the three Goddesses are the feminine forms of “BRAHMA” (Rajo guna); “VISHNU” (Sattwa guna) and ‘RUDRA”(Thamo guna) who are embodiments of one single cosmic power responsible for “Creation, sustenance and Layam” of the entire creation.
Using these three “SAKTHI SWARUPINIES” Goddess “LALITHA” under takes the “CREATION; SUSTENANCE AND LAYAM” of the universe manifestation.
Goddess “LALITHA DEVI” is explained in “Lalitha Sahasranama sthotram” as ‘AABRAHMA KEETA JANANI”, meaning the mother of everything in the universe right from small creature to Lord Brahma.
If Lord “Shiva” is “Suddha Chaitanyam (static energy), Goddess “Lalitha” is “ Prakruthi” (in built kinetic energy.) That is how “PRAKRUTHI” is seen subjected to change and transformation (parinamam) under the “time and space concept” for which he inbuilt energy has got to be in Kinetic Form only with its “Life Force.”
This can also be scientifically explained. Our body is a zygotic manifestation by the union of male and female gametes and is full of cells. Each cell carries “Mitochondrion structures” in large numbers, in which respiration and energy production occurs. The stunning ‘anatomical’ fact is that such “Mitochondrion structures” are mostly from the female gametes in larger quantities compared to very few in male gametes. Thus it is the scientifically proven reality that it is only the mother’s cells that provide the entire energy for the manifestation and sustenance. That is why mother “LALITHA” is explained as ‘AABRAHMA KEETA JANANI.”
As per the Lunar calendar, all the 12 months are divided into six “RUTHUVULU” of which “AASWAYUJAM AND KAARTHIKAM” constitute “SARADRUTHUVU.” During these two months the weather is pleasant with its blooming cool moon light. First nine days are named as “Sarannavarathrulu” , during which period Goddess” LALITHA PARABHATTARIKA” is worshipped in different forms. Lord “Brahma” explained Maharishi “Maarkandeya” as to the different forms in which the Goddess is to be worshipped during these nine days.
They are:
“SAILAPUTHRI; BRAHMACHARINI; CHANDRAGHANTA; KUSHMANDA; SKANDAMATHA; KAATYAAYINI; KAALA RAATHRI; MAHA GOWRI and SIDDHI DHATHRI.” On the tenth day Goddess is worshipped in the form of “SREE RAAJARAAJESWARI/LALITHA PARAABHATTARIKA DEVI.” (Otherwise known as ‘THRISAKTHI SWAROOPINI’.)
Numerically, number (9) “NAVA” is known as the ‘Poorna Sankhya.’ Total of number 9 multiplied by any other number would be nine (9) only. Whereas number Eight (8) represents “MAYA” or “ASHTA PRAKRITHI” which keeps on changing finally reducing to 1. The total of any number multiplied with Eight(8) keeps receding gradually one by one, thereby explaining that the “ ASHTAPRAKRITHI” is not permanent but vanishes into “ONE” (1),i.e., “PARAMAATHMAN.”
Also ‘DURGA MAATHA’ had to fight for Nine (9) days with two demons by names ‘SAMBHDU AND NISSAMBHUDU” and finally won over them on the 10th day. That is why it is known as ‘VIJAYA DASAMI.”
It is also said that Lord “RAMA” killed “Ravana” on this “Vijaya Dasami” day, as also the “PANDAVAS” after completing their “Ajnaathavasam” won over the“ KAURAVAS” during “UTTARAGOGRAHANAM” time on this day.
Let us invoke Mother’s Blessings with the following prayer:
‘SARVA CHAITANYA ROOPAAM THAAM AADYAAM VIDYAAM CHA DHEEMAHI BUDDHIM YAANAHA PRACHODAYAATH.”
